The "Integration through
Education" programme arranges trainee positions
for youths and young adults up to age 25 whose
resident permit status is unresolved.
The Working Group of
Immigrant Entrepreneurs initiated the "Integration
through Education" programme on October 10, 2008.
As part of the FLUCHTort Hamburg PLUS Network
funded by the European Social Funds, the project
aims at integrating refugees, asylum seekers,
foreign nationals with tolerated status or a residency
permit into the dual education system.
We inform adolescents
and young adults up to age 25 about possible professions
and assist them in creating an application portfolio.
Our ultimate goal is to place young people in
appropriate trainee positions. The ASM e.V. arranges
trainee positions primarily in firms run by immigrants.
FLUCHTort Hamburg Plus
is one of 43 networks throughout Germany that
provide regional support to refugees with "tolerated"
residence status, helping them access the employment
market. These networks offer advising and coaching
services to increase and secure foreign nationals'
chances on the job market.
The Hamburg network
association comprises parties from social work
organisations that assist refugees, integration
centres, placement agencies, vocational education
and employment agencies, firms and immigrant organisations.
Hamburg administrations, the Employment Office
and team.arbeit.hamburg all work in partnership,
integrating enterprises and chambers operatively
and strategically. The networks' agenda is to
advise, coach, provide qualifications to, and
integrate young people whose residence status
is as yet unresolved into the job market.
Our project offers
young people:
- Information
on vocational education for a variety of professions
- Assistance
in creating a professional application portfolio
- Tips for a
successful job interview
- Trainee placement
- Support during
training
